Signwork
In 1987 I had the good fortune to get a job two weeks prior to high school graduation, apprenticed to artist Al Hines at his sign shop. For the next 17 years I counted my days there as a great resource of learning, craft and peace of mind.
Though Al died in 2008 the shop continues to thrive under the guidance of Jake Long and his faithful hound, Georgia.
